Welcome to my studio!

I offer private lessons for any age and skill level, from beginner to professional.

My philosophy as a music teacher is to nurture love for music first, and then to develop healthy and efficient practice habits through technique and critical thinking. My lessons tend to be light and casual, but I have high musical standards. “Take your work seriously but not yourself.”

Students of mine can be found in the Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra, Golden State Youth Orchestra, Young People’s Youth Symphony, and other local community and youth orchestras. They have been principal players in CODA and All-State orchestras, and have attended music programs in Shenandoah and Chicago.
